Port Charlotte, FL August 6, 2008 –
Today, the campaign of Ken Roberson,
Republican candidate for State
Representative District 71, announced the
endorsements of the Southwest Florida
Chapter of the Florida Police Benevolent
Association and the Florida Police
Benevolent Association who represent over
36,000 PBA members and their families
throughout Florida.
Michael T. McHale, President of the
Southwest Florida Chapter of PBA stated
“We ask our members, their friends and
families, and all citizens in the state
who respect the strong and efficient
enforcement of our laws, to cast their
ballots in support of KEN ROBERSON.” PBA
endorses candidates who are pro-law
enforcement and have demonstrated strong
leadership, integrity and high moral
character.
The PBA endorsement is one of the most
difficult endorsements for a candidate to
earn and one of the most highly sought
after because of the strength and prestige
associated with it. The PBA works to
enhance and protect the best interests of
the law enforcement community while
promoting professionalism which results in
a positive effect for the citizens they
protect.
“I am honored and grateful to have the
support of the PBA” said Roberson. “Public
safety is a fundamental responsibility of
government. We have to be safe in our
homes and in our businesses, so we can
enjoy the high quality of life we have
here in District 71. I will work hard to
make sure that law enforcement in the
State of Florida has the tools they need
to protect us.”
District 71 covers parts of
Charlotte, Sarasota & Lee Counties and is
currently held by State Representative
Michael Grant, a candidate for the Florida
Senate
