Port Charlotte, FL – The
political action committees of the
Charlotte-Desoto Building Industry
Association and the Punta Gorda-Port
Charlotte-North Port Building Association
of Realtors have endorsed Ken Roberson,
candidate for the Florida House of
Representatives District 71 in the August
26th Republican Primary.
“The building industry and Realtors share
the priority of getting strong, business-
minded candidates into office” explained
Suzanne Graham, Chairman of the Charlotte-DeSoto
Building Industry Association’s PAC. “As a
business community, we’re all in the same
boat,” Realtor’s PAC Chairman Ed “Moe”
Olson added, “and we’re eager to support
leaders who can turn the economy around.”
“We need to restart Florida’s economy. I
am honored to have the support of the
builders and Realtors which have been a
source of jobs and economic well being for
Floridians. Elected officials in
Tallahassee need to understand how
important it is to maintain a strong
economy and job base. Florida needs to be
affordable again, by keeping taxes low and
eliminating wasteful government spending”
stated Roberson.
Kenneth L. “Ken” Roberson is a Florida
native and was born in Bradenton, Manatee
County, Florida in 1943. He was educated
in Florida’s public school system. Ken
knows the value of a dollar and hard work.
At the age of 12 he started delivering
newspapers for the Bradenton Herald. He
worked while in high school and while
attending college. Ken has owned and
operated his own business, serving the
citizens of Charlotte, Sarasota and Lee
Counties for 31 years. Ken’s family
includes, two sons, Mark L. (wife, Connie)
Roberson of Woodstock, GA and James Clay
(wife, Toni) Roberson, who is in business
with his father, of Port Charlotte; six
grandchildren, Trent, Abby, Zachary,
Hannah, Hayden, and Halayna Roberson; his
mother, Mary Roberson; three sisters, and
many nieces and nephews.
