Port Charlotte, FL – Ken
Roberson, candidate for State
Representative District 71 was the first
candidate in the race to qualify and
officially be on the ballot according to
the Florida Division of Elections in
Tallahassee on June 16, 2008, the first
day of the qualifying period.
Roberson who announced his candidacy in
May of 2007 said he was proud to be a
candidate in the August 26th Republican
primary for the seat and said he was
looking forward to the final exciting days
of the campaign. District 71 covers parts
of Charlotte, Sarasota, & Lee Counties and
is currently held by State Representative
Michael Grant, a candidate for the Florida
Senate.
“Our campaign is all about grassroots
support. I am especially proud and
thankful for the broad community support I
have received including a list of over 65
endorsements from local business persons,
community leaders and local politicians
which is on our website. Our team of
volunteers and supporters have been
working hard for many months. The message
I’m getting from door to door canvassing
and phone calls is that voters want common
sense solutions based on sound
conservative principles in Tallahassee. I
am a conservative Republican that believes
in less taxes, less (more efficient)
government and more personal freedom.
These are our values and the ones I will
take to Tallahassee when elected.”
