ROBERSON MAKES BALLOT BY PETITION

Port Charlotte, FL – The Supervisor of Elections of Charlotte, Lee and Sarasota Counties have certified to the Bureau of Elections Record, Florida Department of State in Tallahassee that Ken Roberson has collected the required number of valid petition signatures for ballot position for the office of State Representative, District. 71.

Roberson who filed to run for the House in May of last year needed to collect 1203 valid petition signatures from registered voters who reside in District 71. “Our campaign is all about grass roots support,” Roberson said, “I am grateful to all the volunteers and supporters for their hard work in helping me collect the required
number of signatures.”

A partisan candidate for State Representative can qualify for the ballot either by paying the qualifying fee of $1,915.92 or by collecting petition signatures from 1 % of the registered voters in the district. According to the Division of Elections, Florida Department of State website there are 120,335 registered voters in District 71.

Kenneth L. “Ken” Roberson is a Florida native and was born in Bradenton, Manatee County, Florida in 1943. He was educated in Florida’s public school system. Ken knows the value of a dollar and hard work. At the age of 12 he started delivering newspapers for the Bradenton Herald. He worked while in high school and while attending college. Ken has owned and operated his own business, serving the citizens of Charlotte, Sarasota and Lee Counties for 31 years. Ken’s family includes, two sons, Mark L. (wife, Connie) Roberson of Woodstock, GA and James Clay (wife, Toni) Roberson, who is in business with his father, of Port Charlotte; six grandchildren, Trent, Abby, Zachary, Hannah, Hayden, and Halayna Roberson; his mother, Mary Roberson; three sisters, and many nieces and nephews.

District 71 covers parts of Charlotte, Sarasota & Lee Counties and is currently held by State Representative Michael Grant, a candidate for the Florida Senate.
